Grand Prix Thursday or Friday: the Bubble Bath
At nine in the evening, the front of Lisboeta Macau in Cotai is lit from top to bottom, and the driveway holds a warm sheen of light. This year’s Macau Grand Prix, the 73rd, takes place from 19 to 22 November 2026. If you are in Macau that week, the Thursday or the Friday night can belong to Shang Pin Spa, inside the same building, and the evening begins with a private car waiting outside wherever you are staying.
The Japanese bubble bath
Ask about Shang Pin Spa and the first thing most people mention is its Japanese bubble bath. It is a bath in the Japanese manner, built around fine foam, and it is set in the timber-deck jacuzzi in the bathing area. If Grand Prix week leaves room for only one evening here, this is the thing that says Shang Pin most clearly.
The spa corridor
A corridor of teak and greenery links the different areas. On a first visit there is no need to work out where anything is, because from the front desk onwards someone from the spa shows you the way. When it comes to choosing a therapist, simply let the manager know which series you would like. There is no need to study how the levels differ first, as the manager takes it from there. The rooms are pictured on the spaces page, and the series are described on the services page.
From 7 October
On the board in place since 7 October, the Massage SPA is MOP 2,299 for a 90-minute session, and the Aroma SPA runs from MOP 3,099 to 6,699 for 60 minutes, each MOP 100 higher than on the September board. The Japanese bubble bath is not part of any package and has its own line under value-added services, at MOP 500. A 10% tourism service charge is added to every item, and the full bands are on the fees page.
When you book through us, a private car collects you free of charge where you are staying, and we arrange the ride back in advance. You also get two free extras, any two of eight such as a hand massage or a leg massage, and the bubble bath is not one of the eight. You pick them once you are there, and when your package session has finished, a different masseur does them on the rows of recliners in the lounge. The figures follow whatever Shang Pin has posted on the day, and we go through them with you line by line when you book.
The hour in the room
The package hour unfolds in one of the white-and-navy spa suites, one to one between you and a therapist from a team drawn from many countries, and it is the heart of the whole package. Spelling out why would spoil it. On the night, you will see. People come out of that room practically glowing. More than a few friends who book Shang Pin again tell us this hour is the reason.
The rest lounge
After the hour, the rest lounge is where the evening slows down. The recliners stand in long rows, and the whole lounge stays open through the night. Meals and soft drinks are included in the package, while spirits and wine are charged separately.
Before you go
Is there somewhere to freshen up afterwards?
Yes, the vanity and changing area has dressing tables and amenities. You can get ready there before you head out.
What if I cannot set out until after eleven?
That is fine. Shang Pin never closes, and the therapists’ shift runs until 6 a.m.
Half past midnight, Lisboeta
At half past twelve the front of Lisboeta Macau is still lit, and the light from its walls falls on the driveway in the same warm colour as at nine. Cotai is full of lights in Grand Prix week, but what Shang Pin brings to mind first is still that pool of fine foam beside the timber deck.
Send us a message with three things: whether you want the Thursday or the Friday (19 or 20 November), how many of you there are, and where you are staying. When we reply, we set out the whole evening at Shang Pin in one go. The consultation is free, and the channels are on the contact page.
