When the Oil Warms: an Aroma Hour in Cotai

You have been on your feet in Cotai since the morning. One hotel lobby opens into the next, the mall floors shine the whole way, and by evening your shoes feel half a size smaller than they did at breakfast.

When you book through us, a private car is at your hotel door as you step out. It takes you to Lisboeta Macau, and Shang Pin Spa is inside. Your bag and jacket stay downstairs while someone walks you up to a room with slatted timber walls.

Before the oil

The therapist comes in and bends down to ask what is most tired today. As she leans close, her hair gives off the faint smell of having just been washed, and that is the first thing you notice tonight. The oil comes second. She warms it between her hands, and its scent fills the room before she has touched you at all.

You tell her you walked Cotai all day, so she starts at your feet.

She works the warm oil over each toe in turn, then into the sole. Somewhere in the middle of the sole you realise the real tiredness was there all along, not in the calves you had been blaming.

The warmth climbs from there. She carries it up the calf and along the thigh, the outside first and then the inside. Her hands stay on your skin the whole way, and the leg starts to feel like one unbroken line.

When she reaches the glutes, your body tightens before you can stop it. She does this every day and her hands are steady, so there is nothing to brace against. You close your eyes, and the breath you were holding slips out slowly on its own.

You turn over, and the clean scent of her comes a little closer. She takes the stomach, then the chest, then the underarm, in order, skipping none of them and lingering on none of them. From the shoulder she follows each arm down and draws every finger out to its tip.

A hot towel wipes the oil away, and the scent stays behind on your skin. Her hands have not left you once since that first touch on your toes. You do not even sit up for the towel, because by now you are half asleep.

Two more on your way out

Then a masseur takes over in the rest area, and because you booked through us there are two free add-ons to pick from a list of eight, chosen there on the night.

After an aroma hour, the two worth having are the ones that ask nothing of you. A head massage lets the half-asleep feeling last a little longer, and a foot massage gives the feet that carried you around Cotai one more turn. Nail care can wait for another visit, since it needs you awake and holding out a hand. All eight are on the services page.

Shang Pin Spa never closes. Its therapists work from 15:00 until 06:00 the next morning. If you want to stay until daylight, the recliners in the free lobby rest area are yours to sleep in. If you would rather have a door that closes, the house also has paid private rest rooms, and we can tell you their rate and hours when you book. The rooms are pictured on the spaces page.

The figures

As of September 2026, the Massage SPA costs MOP 2,199 for 90 minutes. The Aroma SPA entry and popular series run from MOP 2,999 to 4,999, and the top tier and twin-star series from MOP 5,599 to 6,599, each of them 60 minutes. A 10% tourism service charge is added to every item and is not included in these prices. The full bands are on the fees page.

The figures follow whatever Shang Pin has posted on the day, and we go through them with you line by line when you book. Booking through us brings three things: a free private car there and back, two free add-ons chosen on site, and a free consultation.

Asked before you ask

Can I name my two add-ons in advance?

There is no need. You choose them on the night, so if your body feels different from what you expected, you can change your mind.

When do the 60 minutes start?

The clock starts when the therapist begins. Reception, changing and the baths are not counted. More answers are on the help page.

Back on the street, Cotai is still lit. The legs that walked it all day now feel light.

Tell us the day, the size of your party and your Cotai hotel, and we will arrange the car and the room. You can reach us through the contact page.
